Working in Brandon Mississippi, has taken a toll on my vehicles due to the poorly maintained east-west interstate. In just a short time, I've faced several issues due to the damaged roads, having had to replace two windshields on different vehicles. Even my brand new windshield is suffering, with multiple repairs already needed. My insurance company tracks these windshield replacements and repairs closely, and they have informed me that this will impact my insurance premium.

The current state of the interstate poses a direct threat not only to vehicles but also to the safety of drivers and passengers. Countless residents and commuters use this route daily, making it a crucial infrastructure in Rankin County. According to the Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT), they have the authority to oversee and implement interstate repairs across the state. It is imperative that the MDOT prioritizes our community’s need and orders a full-scale repaving of the interstate.
