The issue

The Ruse dog park is a busy dog park. The park, whilst great, has many issues with safety and security. One of the residential fences along the park's north end is damaged, leaving a big hole where the dogs can escape and end up on the main road.

My dog escaped -- twice -- almost being hit by a bus. Ruse Dog Park, located at the corner of Marshall Street and Macauley Avenue, is more than just a green space for dogs to play and owners to socialize; it's an integral part of our community and a valuable resource. However, the park is plagued by poor maintenance, overgrown grass, damaged fences, and dangerous debris. Neglected repairs have turned this once-safe haven for our pets into an accident waiting to happen. Broken pieces of metal and other hazards lie strewn across one side of the park that backs onto the residential properties, putting animals and their owners in harm's way.

We believe in the real essence of a community dog park, but the current status of Ruse Dog Park is far from safe and inviting. Appropriate maintenance and repairs, particularly of the fencing, must be prioritized to ensure the safety of our beloved pets and the quality of our neighbourhood amenities. Please join us in urging local authorities to take immediate action in repairing and maintaining Ruse Dog Park. Your signature will be a step forward in transforming our park into a safer, better place for dogs and their owners.
