It's truly mind boggling. First, Chrysler manufactured the defective car that killed both my daughters. Now they are OPPOSING the bill that's named in their memory. Many of you have asked why. Fiat-Chrysler, Ford, and the National Automobile Dealers Association are all saying the same thing: rental car companies and dealers should be allowed to rent, sell, or loan unsafe recalled cars, unless the manufacturer decides --on a whim -- to issue a "do not drive" warning. Such warnings are extremely rare. There is no standard for when they must be issued. There was NO "do not drive" warning on the Chrysler PT Cruiser that killed Raechel and Jackie. Or the recalled rented Honda that killed Jewel Brangman. Here's Chrysler's letter to Senator and Rep. Capps about rental car safety: http://carconsumers.org/pdf/FiatChrysler_reply-to_SenBoxer_RepCapps.pdf Here's testimony from a recent hearing in Congress that shows what NHTSA says, and what the opponents are saying. See for yourself. What Fiat-Chrysler and other opponents say makes no sense, if you care about your customers' safety. Thank you again so much for helping spread the word! Cally
