The Issue

We are a team of entrepreneurs and athletes with competitive skating and international coaching experience who want to re-open this former “place to be,” with an extra edge. Our goal is to restore this historic space as a vibrant community hub that combines the nostalgia of open skate nights with modern programs that teach skating as an art, sport, and way to experience joy.

The world’s most popular marathons have added a skate component to their races, in response to the growing interest in international inline speed skating. When the sport is added to the Olympics, we want Lake Highlands kids on team USA and have an entire community (of recreational skaters) supporting them.

sign the petition to show your excitement and indicate to local investors that our skate center and training facility has a market.

Reopening White Rock Skate would mean:

  • Reviving a beloved Dallas landmark with deep community roots
  • Offering affordable, healthy recreation for families and youth
Connecting Dallas to the growing global skating movement
  • Bringing new life to a long-vacant property and supporting local small businesses.

Sign this petition to show the property holder, sales agents, and local investors that White Rock Skate as a community space and training facility is wanted.

🛼 Let’s roll forward together.

For over 40 years, White Rock Skate Center was the heartbeat of Dallas family life.
From its opening in 1973 to its closure in 2016, generations of Dallas kids learned to skate there under the disco lights. It wasn’t just a rink. It was where friendships began, where kids celebrated birthdays, and where a whole community came together.

Today, the building at 10055 Shoreview Road stands empty. It reminds us of what used to be and what could be again.
