🕊 Two Years Later — Still Fighting for Justice for Jalyne
Today marks two years since my wife, Jalyne Evans-Jones, was brutally and senselessly shot through a closed apartment door by our upstairs neighbor in Lawrenceville, Georgia.
Two years since our lives were changed forever.
Two years without true justice.
On August 13, 2023, Jalyne survived what should have been a fatal attack. The bullet shattered her hand, tore through her abdomen, damaged her liver and intestines, and left her with permanent injuries both visible and invisible.
And yet, despite overwhelming evidence and the trauma she has endured, her shooter was only charged with a misdemeanor… and was released on bond.
This is not just about our family; this is about the precedent this sets for all of us.
If someone can fire a gun through a closed door, nearly kill a neighbor, and walk away with a slap on the wrist, what message are we sending to victims everywhere?
What does this say about the value of human life, safety, and justice in our society?
We cannot allow this dangerous precedent to become the norm.
We cannot accept a system that fails survivors twice; first in the moment of violence, and again in the courtroom.
💔 Jalyne’s courage and faith have carried us through the darkest days, but we need your voice to help turn this injustice into change.
📢 By signing and sharing this petition, you are standing up against a system that is failing victims and letting violent offenders slip through the cracks.
Let’s demand accountability.
Let’s demand justice.
Let’s make sure no family has to live with this kind of betrayal from the very system meant to protect them.
