We, the student body, are calling for the reopening of Burke Dining Hall to better serve the needs of students living and studying on the South side of campus. With the recent reopening of Burke and Parham Halls, along with the many academic buildings in the area, there is a significant need for a convenient dining option close to where students live and attend classes.

Currently, students on the South side must travel across campus to access dining facilities, creating unnecessary strain and inconvenience, especially during busy school days. Reopening Burke Dining Hall would not only alleviate this burden but also offer a much-needed lunch option for students attending classes nearby. Additionally, this dining hall would serve students from Tutwiler, the sorority and fraternity houses, Bryant, Bryce Lawn, and our international student community, providing them with a closer, more accessible dining option.

Burke Dining Hall has the potential to become the best dining facility on campus. The infrastructure is already in place; it simply needs to be staffed and reopened. By signing this petition, we urge the administration to consider the significant benefits that reopening Burke Dining Hall would bring to our campus community.
