According to the recently released FEMA Environmental Assessment for the proposed Hazard Mitigation Project for the Dam, reopening the County Highway would improve access for emergency vehicles, school buses and general traffic. 

Reopening Burden Lake Road would have a long-term beneficial impact on land use by improving access within the area.
