For over 20 years, the Middleborough Skatepark has been a crucial pillar in our community, serving as a constructive recreational complex beloved by many generations. Regrettably, the park's design is outdated, and its structures have become unsafe, threatening the safety of our athletes.

This park, though worn, signifies a hub for social interactions, fostering relationships, promoting physical fitness, and contributing positively to the town's traction. The current adverse conditions lead to dangerous accidents potentially impacting the health and safety of our skaters. These safety concerns are not just a local issue. According to a report from the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, 26,000 individuals are treated annually in U.S. emergency rooms for skateboarding-related head injuries.

Upgrade of our cherished skatepark is long overdue. It is essential that it is revitalized to modern standards, ensuring it is not only safe but also alluring, encouraging younger generations to partake in this creative, active lifestyle. Through this revamp, we can preserve a cherished part of our town's history while promoting a healthy, active lifestyle for current and future generations in Middleborough.
