The GW administration recently released the meal plan options for the upcoming semester. This new plan is nearly double the price of what students are currently paying for meals, and will require students to pay for unlimited dining hall swipes and up to $500 in gworld cash to spend at partnering restaurants. Part of the reason housing is so expensive here is because many rooms come equipped with their own kitchens. What’s the point of having a kitchen if students aren’t given enough money for groceries? The university is ridiculously expensive as is, and these new measures are furthering very classist systems.
