Renee Bach, an American citizen residing in the state of Virginia, has committed gross human rights violations against hundreds of children in Uganda. While Bach and her organization, Serving His Children may have started off with good intentions, that quickly changed when Bach herself, with no formal medical training or license, began experimenting on critically ill children from all over Eastern Uganda. From 2010-2014, Bach and her center remained unlicensed, taking in children with severe, complex medical conditions. During this time, they even had a red room they labeled as their "ICU".  Bach and her organization knowingly took in children they were not at all qualified to treat, often convincing vulnerable mothers to leave licensed government health facilities to receive, what they believed would be, better care at Serving His Children. 

With the help of international news media coverage and our growing online community, we have been able to help sponsor legal representation for two of the mothers who lost their children at the hands of Bach and SHC. Although Bach was called to appear in Jinja High Courts in March 2019, she did not show up. We have strong reason to believe that Bach has no intention of returning to Uganda to answer for her crimes. For this reason, we are seeking Bach to be held accountable in her home state of Virginia under the U.S. Transitory Torts Statute and/or the U.S. Alien Torts Statute. 

We are also calling on the Ugandan Government to do everything in its power to not only hold Renee Bach and her NGO accountable but to work toward creating more stringent supervisory measures over NGOs run by foreign nationals. We are highly interested in working toward policy change that would prevent anything so grotesque from happening again. We are calling on Ugandan authorities to investigate the crimes of Bach and SHC to the fullest extent possible.
