Charlie Kirk was an American Patriot who advocated for open discussion and debates in a peaceful way, at a time when the divide in this country has been growing and devolving into political violence. He was well-known for his debates and discussions with people he disagreed with as a peaceful means of making progress and enacting change without violence. Charlie touched innumerable lives throughout his career, becoming popular enough to draw crowds of thousands of people who wanted to see him speak wherever he went. 

On September 10, 2025, Charlie Kirk was attending an event in Utah Valley University when he was assassinated in front of 3,000 people who had gathered to see him, a crowd which included his family and young children. He was gunned down for his use of his First Amendment rights and for his peaceful, political activism. Charlie's life impacted countless Americans, and his death even more so.

Charlie's home was Arizona. In the wake of this tragedy, the State of Arizona and the City of Phoenix should honor an Arizonan, a patriot, a husband, a father, and a martyr by renaming Sky Harbor International Airport to Charlie Kirk International Airport.
