In the heart of Dayton, Ohio, our community was rocked by the tragic and preventable loss of a young soul, Hershall. His memory still lingers in our streets, and it is a stark reminder of how he was failed by many within the system meant to protect him. Hershell’s untimely departure left a void and we, as a community, are compelled to honor his life in a tangible, enduring way.

The Mc Clure Street Bridge, a heavily-trafficked route that runs through the beating heart of our city, stands as a silent witness to everyday life and, unknowingly, it marks a place where our community needs healing. Renaming this bridge to "The Hershall Bridge" would serve as a constant reminder to all who pass of the importance of protecting our children and holding each other accountable.

By endorsing this change, we aim to spark dialogue and foster a community spirit that emphasizes vigilance, compassion, and better protective measures for our youth.
