In response to Donald Trump signing an executive order to rename Lake Ontario, I propose renaming Lake Superior to Lake Obama Superior, as a homage to President Barack Obama’s enduring legacy of hope, unity, and real leadership.

Lake Superior, the largest freshwater lake in the world by surface area, represents majesty, resilience, and natural beauty. These same attributes were embodied by President Obama during his two consecutive terms in office, as he worked tirelessly to bring communities together, celebrate diversity, and push for a better future for our nation and the world as a President of the United States should.

Renaming Lake Superior pays tribute to these efforts and symbolizes our commitment to a superior vision for our nation and neighboring nation. 

The administrative process of renaming a natural shared feature like this requires support from local governments and federal bodies responsible for geographical names. However, with widespread public support, we can initiate this change and make a significant statement.
