Rename "Head of Lettuce" to "Brick of Lettuce"

Rename "Head of Lettuce" to "Brick of Lettuce"
The Issue
I am a person who deeply loves salads, sandwiches and dishes where lettuce is a staple ingredient. Yet, there's something that always makes me cringe: the term "head of lettuce". This phrase, despite being used for centuries, sends shivers down my spine each time I hear it. This is why I am championing for a name change from "head of lettuce" to "brick of lettuce".
Crazy as it sounds, this small change could mean a world of difference to people like me, and perhaps many more. Lettuce is consumed by millions around the globe. In fact, the U.S. Department of Agriculture reports that each person in the United States consumed approximately 24.5 pounds of lettuce in 2015 (USDA, 2016). Changing the name not only will respect the feelings of myself and anyone else who may feel the same, but it also offers a fresh perspective on this wonderful, crunchy vegetable.
Please, let's cast away the term "head of lettuce" and usher in a new era of "brick of lettuce". Register your support by signing this petition today.
