Michelle Smalls has been an unwavering pillar of strength and support in the Harlem community for over 12 years.  Known affectionately as the “Queen of Harlem", her tireless efforts have made a significant impact on countless lives.  Her initiatives, such as her annual Easter Drive, “Harlem Love” block party for the homeless, “Ballin up in Harlem" basketball tournaments to help prevent gun violence, back-to-school drives, Halloween events, and the Christmas Coat Drives, have all provided essential items and holiday cheer to thousands of children annually.  Beyond these seasonal events, she also helps numerous families secure homes through Michelle Smalls Realty, contributing to the stability of our community. 

In recognition of her outstanding contributions and continuous support for Harlem, we propose that the corner of East 119th Street and 5th Avenue be renamed “Michelle Smalls Place”.  This gesture will serve as a tribute to Michelle’s unwavering dedication and will also serve as an enduring reminder of what one person can achieve within their community. 

We believe this is a fitting way to honor Ms. Michelle Smalls’ legacy and inspire future generations towards active participation in their communities.  Please join us in urging Manhattan Community Board 11 to make this change.
