Allegedly: “President Hanycz is actively harming the academic, emotional, and overall college environment of both the Professors and Students at Xavier University through harmful censorship, misleading information, and deliberate negligence. She has personally received gluttonous amounts of funding that should be going toward the student body. As stated by multiple sources including current students and alumni: “Xavier’s current administration is not representative of the student body whatsoever and is actively hurting our university. Disgruntled Professors in various departments have been driven out directly due to Xavier’s leadership. Things like salary cuts, raised health insurance premiums, parking, etc. have been negatively affecting their lives as well as the students that felt a connection to them.” 

 Furthermore, students should not be receiving emails from these Professors, who are actively asking students to advocate for them. Professors and students alike have felt this tension brewing and it seems as though every program is a mess, prices are increasing, contracts are changing, and this schools reputation and credibility has gone down the drain. 

 So what can we do? Advocate for ourselves and for the Professors and Staff who are afraid to lose their jobs. Freedom of speech is no longer a guarantee at Xavier University. It should be noted, at open session meetings students have asked our dear President about the sudden removal of several Professors, class offerings, and programs. The response received was, “We aren’t talking about that right now.” I believe the amount of money we contribute to Xavier University should cover the cost for these of answers, but as Students, Staff, and Parents are well aware: It wouldn’t be a real transaction with Xavier University if it wasn’t hidden under the table.

 Parents, Students, Professors, Staff, and Alumni:  Are you able to stand in front of your peers and proudly support and defend the leadership of this institution? Are you excited and enthusiastic about the direction of this school? Parents: You are actively paying for the lavish lifestyle of our President while your children live in toxic environments actively being exposed to lead paint, mold, and bug infestations. Do your children seem happy and well supported in this environment? Is your child’s program on the lengthy list of budget cuts? Can you honestly say that your money is being spent accordingly in support of your child’s education, experience, and networking here at Xavier? Are you confident in this school’s ability to fulfill the promises that were originally made to you and your child on their first day of college? 

 Contracts are changing, fees are increasing, support and accessibility resources are disappearing, but our President  is receiving 200k in “undefined compensation” on top of her 500k salary. She has received a 73% increase in salary and 112% more additional compensation. We are receiving less scholarship, grants, and tuition aid each year while she rewards herself with new promotions. It should be noted: Professors at Xavier University have not received a salary increase since 2023, which was only a 3% increase—quite low in comparison to that of our President. I have respect for our educators who we see everyday, who support us, advocate for us. I do not have respect for a President who rides around in Golf carts during family weekend but disappears the rest of the school year. What is your purpose? Are you simply a sponge for our finances? Raising tuition and fees for the loyal and current students of this school will NOT increase enrollment, it is slowly pushing students out. There is an estimated 20% decrease in upcoming freshman. Are we going to receive an unexpected increase  in our tuition bills? Are more professors and programs going to disappear? Are we expected to remain silent? Who is paying for this? YOU! 
What is she doing for this school? Absolute destruction.  We need a change.”
