The Issue

Recently, my family and I have experienced a traumatic and terrifying encounter with two aggressive dogs in our community. We were at our residence in north tonawanda, NY these dogs attacked me, my daughter, and even our beloved family pet. This troubling incident isn’t isolated as two other neighbors have also fallen victim to similar attacks by the same dogs.

It has become painfully clear that the presence of these vicious canines poses an unacceptable threat to the safety and well-being of all residents in our neighborhood. Children playing outside, elderly neighbors enjoying their gardens, and families out for a walk are all at risk. No one should live in fear within their own community, and this is why we are demanding action from local authorities.

These attacks are not only frightening but potentially fatal, and the frequency cannot be overlooked. According to statistics from **Dog Bite Law**, nearly 4.5 million dog bites occur each year in the United States, with about 20% leading to injuries serious enough to require medical attention. Our neighborhood should not contribute to these alarming numbers.

We are calling on the local animal control authorities and the city council to enforce stricter regulations regarding aggressive animals and insist on the immediate removal of these dogs. By doing so, we can prevent further incidents and restore peace to our community.

Additionally, we propose establishing a more robust system for reporting and monitoring potentially dangerous animals in the area. Implementing mandatory assessments and behavioral training for repeat offenders can help address the issue at its core, ensuring that all pets and people can coexist safely and harmoniously.

Let us not wait for another attack to occur. We must take proactive steps to ensure our community is a safe and welcoming place for all. By signing this petition, you can help urge our local authorities to act swiftly and decisively.

Please sign and share this petition to protect our families and ensure we can safely enjoy our homes and neighborhoods without fear.
