Sandy Creek High School is not JUST a school; it is an integral part of our community where the future leaders, creators, and innovators are nurtured.   In the past 4 years, the direction of the school has shifted, and not for the better. Since the appointment of the current principal, students have been deprived of vital educational programs that are essential for their growth and success beyond high school.

A simple visit to the school shows this institution is not receiving the love and care that should be the pride of any principal.  From the trashy parking lot to the badly kept lawns, Sandy Creek has eroded into the worst school in the district.  The principal has shown she has no interest in diversity, culture or accountability.

Current Issues:

• Students expelled for peaceful ICE protest (petition found at change.org)
• Targeting certain Arts programs and lack of funding 
• Lack of funding for Drama program
• Removal of International Baccalaureate (IB) Program 
• Lowering student morale by moving Pep Rallies to after school and/or weekends
• Removing Black history and Hispanic heritage programs 
• Communities such as Everton protesting Sandy Creek zoning (petition found at change.org)
• No certified Athletic Trainer hired in nearly 2 years
• Teachers and coaches targeted based on race
• Causing stressful environment for students to focus 

Programs that have historically enriched our students' learning experience and prepared them for real-world challenges have been systematically eliminated without sufficient replacements. Extracurricular activities that offered students the opportunity to explore their interests, develop critical skills, and foster a lifelong love of learning do not receive school support, or have been reduced or discontinued altogether.

There are no new initiatives to compensate for the losses.  Compare school programs within the Fayette County District and it is clear that this principal has a minimal interest in creating new opportunities for students.
