Remove the Hazardous Shrub Blocking Clear View on Road Curve Behind Winn-Dixie

The Issue

As a local resident deeply affected by this issue, I want to highlight a potentially dangerous problem. Once you approach the stop sign located towards a particular curve in our neighborhood, (behind the Winn-Dixie on big bend) visibility becomes dangerously compromised due to an overgrown shrub. In order to see beyond this vegetation, drivers have to pull out past the stop sign (which is a ticket-able offense) onto the street. This increases the risk of vehicular accidents, particularly in reduced visibility scenarios like dusk and dawn. It's critical we ensure the safety of all road users.

The World Health Organization reports that road traffic injuries are a major cause of death globally and visibility plays a crucial role in many such accidents (source: WHO). The removal of this shrub is not just about improving aesthetics, but is significantly linked to our community's safety.

As it might be a lot of work to remove the vegetation, I am proposing two options. The removal of the shrub, or the addition of another stop sign facing eastwards, making that intersection a three way stop. As members of the community, we all share the responsibility for our collective safety. Let's tackle this problem together. Sign the petition today to make our streets safer for everyone.
