My friends and fellow citizens work and live in the heavy shadow of a cell tower which is located too close to their residence. This cell tower, while providing telecommunications service, compromises the visual aesthetics of the neighbourhood and raises concerns about potential health hazards.

Numerous research studies suggest that prolonged exposure to the radiofrequency electromagnetic fields produced by these towers could risk the wellbeing of those living in immediate proximity (American Cancer Society, 2020), a threat that we all shouldn't have to live with. Beyond the health concerns, these towers can also negatively affect property values, with a study by the National Institute for Science, Law & Public Policy (NISLAPP) in 2014 indicating that 94% of home buyers are less interested in properties near cell towers and would pay less for a property in sight of one.

We urge the responsible authorities to consider our plea for the removal of this cell tower from our residential area. We value both our health and the beauty of our community, and we believe that alternatives could be sought to provide the necessary services without causing distress or potential harm to the residents.
