The Issue

This petition is deeply personal to me. As a parent of three children who will soon be attending school at the new Des Moines Christian high school and early education buildings in Urbandale, I am extremely concerned about the potential health risks posed by the nearby cell tower on NW 42nd Avenue. Numerous studies have investigated the dangers of long-term exposure to low-intensity radiofrequency (RF) radiation emitted by cell phone towers. The findings have revealed a range of potential health consequences, including headaches, sleep disturbances, memory alterations, and even an increased risk of cancer. Additionally, these towers present structural concerns that could affect the safety of nearby structures and inhabitants.

Research on this topic, such as studies referenced by the World Health Organization and the International Agency for Research on Cancer, suggest the potential for developing "radiofrequency sickness" syndrome due to prolonged exposure to RF radiation. Given this evidence, I strongly believe that urgent action is required to ensure the safety and well-being of our community, especially our children.

By removing the cell tower, we can significantly reduce the potential health risks for the students and staff of Des Moines Christian. I urge the local city council, as well as cell tower operators, to prioritize the health of our community and relocate the cell tower to a less populated area where it poses minimal harm.

Our children deserve a safe learning environment, free from the threats of radiofrequency radiation. Please join me in advocating for their safety and the future of our neighborhood. Your support and signature on this petition can make a difference in protecting our loved ones./n/n Sign our petition to push for the removal of the cell tower on NW 42nd Avenue in Urbandale.
