Remove the button "Is this item still available" from Facebook Marketplace! Please!!!
The Issue
I hope this finds you well,
Everyone in North America uses Facebook marketplace. It has essentially replaced Craigslist and Kijiji (Canadian craigslist but way worse). Facebook marketplace was going good for a while. A short while...
Then it started, sellers inundated with "is this still available" messages filling up their inbox's. At first we all thought "wow my item is popular", we quickly started to realize all these people had nothing to say. They would ghost us after inquiring about that $30 dollar side table, that $200 dollar couch, or that $50 dollar electric drill. DAY after DAY, NIGHT after NIGHT!!! The faceless messages came flooding in the inbox's.
We all wondered, who are these people? what kind of person ask's if something is available when its clearly available? After a while you start to wonder, is it really them? or is this some kind of sick and twisted psychological game Facebook is playing?
This petition has one simple and immensely important goal. Forget the elections, forget war, this is a problem we can all solve right now, and right here!
Facebook/Meta, it is time that you remove the option to automatically generate the message "is this still available" or any variant of this phrase from Facebook Marketplace. PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE LORD! Remove it and let us be done with this intolerable suffering.
Act now, join us in asking Facebook to remove this message!
Sincerely, the entire world
