The backpack ban imposes an unfair burden particularly on those who have limited time between classes. It results in students carrying books and supplies in their hands, which is not only cumbersome but also risky as it increases the likelihood of losing or damaging personal and school property.

Moreover, this policy does not take into account students with specific needs, such as those who require medical supplies, additional resources for disabilities, or simply have more to carry due to placement in various tiered learning programs. These students especially need the convenience of backpacks to ensure they have everything necessary to thrive in their educational setting.

Research shows that ergonomic carrying of school supplies can prevent injuries and improve organization among students.
