In a community where trust and integrity should be paramount, it is deeply disturbing to learn that Kerry Frame, a current member and former board member of the Arabian Horse Society of Australia (AHSA), has been found guilty of animal cruelty in July 2026 for failing to provide Veterinary Care to horses in her possession, involving one with a body score of 0/5.  This revelation strikes at the very heart of the equestrian community and the values we uphold. As people who are passionate about the welfare of horses and ensuring they are treated with the care and respect they deserve, we are compelled to call for her immediate removal from the AHSA.

The Constitution of the AHSA ltd 

" 7.8 Conduct and Discipline of Members
(a) Members must at all times:
(i) Comply with the obligations under the Constitution, the Regulations or the Rule 
Book, at any competition or event conducted under the Rule Book;9 | Page

(ii) engage in behaviour or conduct that is sportsmanlike, honest, respectful and 
courteous and not behave or conduct themselves in a manner that may bring or 
tend to bring the Society into disrepute;
(iii) not engage in behaviour or conduct that may result in a conviction of any act of 
cruelty upon an animal under any Federal or State legislation; "

Kerry Frame's actions represent a betrayal of the principles and ethics that we expect from members of such an organisation. Many of us who dedicate our lives to working with, and breeding horses know that they are creatures of beauty, deserving of dignity and love. Allowing someone who has been found guilty of causing them harm to remain a part of AHSA not only tarnishes its reputation but also endangers the welfare of horses under its members’ care.

Statistics from reputable sources reveal that cases of animal cruelty have long-lasting impacts not just on the animals themselves, but also on community trust. Organisations like the AHSA serve as pillars of assurance that those within their ranks uphold the highest standards of animal care. The continued membership of an individual proven to have harmed horses undermines that assurance significantly. Enforcing strict accountability is essential in helping prevent future incidents and fostering a community where horses are safe, respected, and thriving.

Removing Kerry Frame from the AHSA is a necessary step in maintaining the integrity and credibility of the organization. This action would send a strong message against animal cruelty, demonstrating that there are real consequences for such behavior. Furthermore, it would reinforce to society at large that the equestrian community does not condone such actions and is committed to promoting the highest standards of animal welfare.
