The Issue
For too long, animals in our community have been abandoned, tortured, and killed at the hands of monsters. It is time to send a strong message to individuals who continue to harm our beloved fur babies. AB 381, also known as Reba's Law, is designed to protect animals and hold their abusers accountable, was close to being killed by certain members of the Nevada Senate.
Despite the efforts of Senators Ira Hansen, John Ellison, Edgar Flores, Lisa Krasner, James Ohrenschall, Jeff Stone, and Robin Titus to block this vital legislation, Reba's Law successfully passed through the Senate and is now awaiting Governor Lombardo's signature. These senators attempted to derail progress, putting the lives of countless animals at risk.
Senator Ira Hansen has shocked many people by comparing animal cruelty consequences to "raping a woman". He then infuriated everyone who fought so hard for this law, saying that "we're putting animal life on the same par as human life, practically."
