Yesterday on March 28th 2022 Governor of Florida Ron DeSantis signed the controversial Don't Say Gay bill. This bill restricts important learning topics like LGBTQIA+ rights and lessons about gender and sexuality in kindergarten to third grade. Not only does this restrict teachers and schools freedom of speech but it allows parents in any grade, not just kindergarten to third grade, to sue the school if they do not like the topics there student is learning. Hypothetically a parent could sue the school over a math problem that references someone having 2 mothers. Not only is this outrages but it would fill the courts with tiny pointless little things like a teacher affirming a trans student.
