Speed cameras have become a common sight in our school zones, where the safety of our children is paramount. However, the current operation of these cameras raises issues. From my personal experience, I've received a ticket for exceeding the limit only slightly in a school zone. Furthermore, the proximity of the signs to the cameras themselves does not allow sufficient warning for motorist to adjust their speeds.

School zones, often dense with pedestrians and young children, no doubt require effective speed control measures. But it is also acceptable to ask for fair and clear enforcement. At present, the closeness of warning signs to the cameras means many drivers are unaware they have entered a speed-restricted zone. Given that the primary function of these cameras is to safeguard our children, not revenue collection, it's only fair and just to request a review.

We need to address what appears to be a punitive revenue system rather than a safety measure. We ask for balance and a fair chance to follow the rules before being punished.
