REMOVE PARKING METERS FROM LYMINGTON HIGH STREET 

This petition is directed to Hampshire County Council

Remove the parking meters recently installed on Lymington High Street and work with local residents and businesses to develop a fair, community-led parking solution.

Lymington’s High Street is the heart of our town—full of independent shops, cafes, and a sense of community. But since the installation of parking meters, we've seen a decline in foot traffic, spontaneous visits, and overall vibrancy.

These meters:

• Discourage people from stopping to shop or eat
• Burden residents and visitors with extra costs
• Damage the livelihood of small local businesses
• Were installed without the support of the Lymington community

We believe the meters threaten the very character and economy of Lymington. We call on Hampshire County Council to remove them immediately and work with the community to develop smarter, fairer parking solutions.
