The Issue

For over 20 years, Susie Michael has been a core part of the lives of the children of Clinton County. Having served as the Executive Director of the Clinton County Boys and Girls Club, her contributions have been instrumental in shaping the lives of children in our community. Not only has she invested her professional life in our community, but she and her husband have also raised their five children here.

Recently, however, a decision was made by the Clinton County Boys and Girls Club’s board president to involve the Northern Indiana Corridor (NIC) in Clinton County, which has directly impacted Susie's position. The introduction of NIC has been detrimental to the way the club functions and cost Susie her career. Many parents and community members believe that Susie has been unfairly removed from her position, which she has held with such diligence and passion.

Susie's unwavering dedication to our community deserves recognition and the people of Clinton County want her back at the helm. The involvement of NIC has not only disregarded the foundational work done by Susie and others to make the Boys and Girls Club what it is today but it poses a risk of losing the Boys and Girls Club all together in the future.

The community wants NIC out of Clinton County and for Susie to be reinstated as executive director. We want the Clinton County Boys and Girls Club back in the hands of people who understand the community. The members of the NIC have no ties to Clinton County.

Help us to preserve the integrity of our Boys and Girls Club as a safe place for children to flourish in our small community.

Sign this petition to show your support and to advocate for someone who has truly been a pillar of the community for her entire adult life.
