Moodhu Bulhaa Dive Center (SP-2953/2016) has received numerous public as well as private accusations of sexual misconduct including but not limited to: sexual harassment, sexual assault, physical assault, dismissing victims, threats of violence towards others involved and other sexual offences. To date, Moodhu Bulhaa Dive Center, its owner, divers, and the overall dive community has largely dismissed and ignored the pleas of multiple victims (including minors).

We believe that any business or organisation (especially ones that present themselves as empowering women and for women) should not be silent in the face of sexual misconduct and must take swift action in order to ensure no further harm is perpetrated to existing and further potential victims. Neither should these perpetrators or others involved in the sexual offences be allowed to take part in public events such as exhibitions, festivals, fairs or expos until they have been cleared and there is confidence in no greater harm caused and the security of victims (existing and potential) should always be considered the first priority. 

We also believe that this was directly and willfully not just neglectful but the perpetrated and accepted culture within Moodhu Bulhaa Dive Center, thus minors, women and others are not safe nor protected, neither are they even considered as important in comparison to the divers that partake in sexual harassment and assault and much less important than Moodhu Bulhaa Dive Center and it’s owner’s own reputation. 

For these reasons, we are appealing to Vacations Expo 2025 run by High Rise International to not let Moodhu Bulhaa Dive Center join as long as the allegations stand and the accused divers continue working there. We condemn the actions taken by Moodhu Bulhaa Dive Center against multiple victims, the large ignorance of Zoona Naseem, the attitude by the divers of Moodhu Bulhaa Dive Center and PADI as an organisation for not taking these issues seriously. 

We believe that such important events should ONLY include businesses that prioritise the wellbeing of the community and we also believe that Moodhu Bulhaa DIve Center continuing to join will tarnish the reputation of other businesses both in similar industries as well as other exhibitors of the Vacations Expo 2025.
