Front license plates are an unnecessary expense and burden for vehicle owners in British Columbia. They often ruin the aesthetics and airflow of vehicles and can cause damage to bumpers such as rust which can lead to further damage in the event of a collision. Modern technology, such as traffic cameras and rear plates, makes front plates redundant. Many provinces in Canada do not have front license plates and they save thousands of dollars. Additionally, removing them could improve collision safety by reducing potential hazards on the front of vehicles and not obstruct critical safety systems.
