Remove Lerato Kganyago from the Miss SA 2024 Judges List for Conflict of Interest

Remove Lerato Kganyago from the Miss SA 2024 Judges List for Conflict of Interest
The Issue
As a proudly South African, I am deeply disappointed and feel undermined with the recent revelations surrounding the upcoming Miss SA 2024 competition. The contest holds immense national pride and credibility, and the integrity of this event must be preserved at all costs. It has come to light that Lerato Kganyago, a judge for the same, has unjustly supported a contestant who allegedly is not a South African citizen. If true, this incidents not only shows a profound conflict of interest but also undermines the essence of the competition to celebrate South African women.
The case in point pertains to a contestant apparently of Nigerian nationality. Given the stringent regulations outlined in the Miss SA eligibility criteria, this gross oversight concerning the nationality requirement raises urgent questions about the fair judging and overall management of this esteemed competition. This incident raises serious doubts about Miss Kganyago's ethical orientation and her ability to render impartial judgement.
Hence, in respect of the love for our country and the principled ethos that the Miss SA competition traditionally upholds, we can't let any individual misuse their position and thus compromise the process. It's incumbent upon us to take necessary actions against such instances to protect the sanctity of this important national event.
I implore you all, as fellow compatriots, to sign this petition to have Lerato Kganyago removed from the list of Miss SA 2024 judges in a bid to protect the integrity of this competition. A message needs to be sent that conflict of interest and unfair practices will not be tolerated in our nation. Sign this petition and stand up for a fair, transparent and truly South African Miss SA 2024.
