PETITION TO REMOVE JUDGE BEVERLY CANNONE FROM THE KAREN READ CASE AND HOLD HER ACCOUNTABLE FOR JUDICIAL BIAS

 

To: The Massachusetts Commission on Judicial Conduct, The Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court, and All Relevant Authorities

 

We, the undersigned citizens of the United States, demand the immediate recusal of Judge Beverly Cannone from the Karen Read case and call for a full investigation into her clear and unacceptable bias in favor of the prosecution. Judge Cannone’s conduct has repeatedly demonstrated partiality, undermining Karen Read’s constitutional right to a fair trial and eroding public trust in the judicial system.

 

Throughout the proceedings, Judge Cannone has made multiple rulings that blatantly favor the prosecution, disregarding crucial evidence that supports the defense and restricting the ability of Karen Read’s legal team to present a full and fair case. This apparent judicial bias is a direct violation of Read’s Sixth Amendment rights and the fundamental principles of due process guaranteed under the U.S. Constitution.

 

Furthermore, her deference to the prosecution team raises serious concerns about conflicts of interest and the integrity of this trial. The judicial system must serve justice—not personal or political interests. Any judge who displays partiality in a criminal case, particularly one of this magnitude, must be held accountable to maintain the public’s faith in the legal process.

 

By allowing this judicial misconduct to continue, the courts risk setting a dangerous precedent where the rights of defendants can be trampled upon with impunity. The United States legal system is founded on fairness, impartiality, and justice for all—values that Judge Cannone has clearly compromised in this case.

 

We, the American people, call for:

1. The immediate recusal of Judge Beverly Cannone from the Karen Read case.

2. A formal investigation into her actions to determine whether judicial misconduct has occurred.

3. Accountability measures, including possible removal from the bench if bias is confirmed.

 

Justice must not only be done but must be seen to be done. We refuse to stand by while a citizen’s constitutional rights are disregarded. We demand an impartial trial for Karen Read, free from judicial prejudice, and we will not rest until these concerns are addressed.
