As parents and student athletes at Menchville High School, We've seen first hand the detrimental impact that Jennifer Nuttycombe has on our athletics program and its participants.

My oldest daughter endured four years under her administration, which failed to provide the support and respect she deserved.  Now, with two more daughters who are student athletes at Menchville, and will be for several years ahead, I cannot remain silent about the ongoing issues under this leadership.

Jennifer Nuttycombe has proven to be an ineffective leader and a tyrant who does little to serve the students or the athletics department. Her favoritism among sports teams results in unequal treatment and uneven support, undermining the unity and morale of our high school and athletic community. Several coaches, who are fundamental to nurturing student athletes and establishing positive program growth, have left Menchville High School due to her lack of support and hostile environment.

Instead of focusing on her duties, which should prioritize the students' experiences, development, and overall well-being, she runs the athletics program as though it's a prison. She acts as the warden, blindly stroking her ego at the expense of the very students and athletic program she is supposed to nurture and promote. 

These type of unnecessary tactics have forced the student athletes, spectators and parents of Menchville High School to feel like strangers in their own home gym. Instead of fostering a positive and welcoming sports environment, the current athletic director only continues to further alienate Menchville students and parents.

Most alarmingly, myself and several of my own family members, have been witness to multiple instances of what we would consider verbal and emotional abuse of students. In my opinion, all for the sake of establishing her dominace over students and to watch them squirm with uncertainty. We have also witnessed many instances of unwarranted and blatant disrespect and outright rudeness towards parents, grandparents, and students. These are serious allegations that cannot be overlooked. Our children deserve a positive and nurturing environment where they can thrive, not one where they face hostility and neglect from figures of authority meant to guide them.

In addition, there have been questionable fundraising tactics, a massive gap in communication with parents, an attitude that the rules do not apply to her, a feeling that she can make up policies on a whim to suit current mood, a blatant lack of support for certain sports and an unwillingness to improve her behavior despite many complaints and multiple performance improvement plans developed specifically for her.

The role of an athletic director is to support and uplift both students and staff, yet the current director seems more focused on her authority than fostering a thriving athletic department. It is crucial for the well-being of our students that we seek new leadership that will prioritize their development and welfare.

Let us come together to demand change and advocate for leadership that truly represents the values of support, respect, and equal treatment for all sports.  Menchville High School deserves an athletic director who is devoted to the success and well-being of all student athletes and coaches alike.

 We urge the school administration and district officials to take immediate action to remove the current athletic director at Menchville high school from her position, ensuring a brighter and more supportive future for our student athletes.
