🚨 LOUISIANA VOTERS 🗣️ THIS AFFECTS YOU DIRECTLY 🚨
Governor Jeff Landry has taken drastic and alarming actions that undermine our democratic process, and it’s time for us to stand up and say enough is enough.
On May 16, just less than 3 weeks before our scheduled elections, Governor Landry signed an executive order that suspended the U.S. House primaries! This sudden decision has thrown the entire electoral process into disarray, particularly affecting the over 100,000 absentee voters, many of whom had already sent back their ballots, expressing their choice for leadership in good faith. This disruption is an affront to the democratic rights of Louisianans, who are now left in confusion and uncertainty.
As if this wasn’t enough, this decision comes on the heels of a federal lawsuit filed on April 30 against Governor Landry, underscoring the unconstitutional racial gerrymandering of our voting maps. These maps were drawn intentionally to dilute Black voting power, undermining decades of progress towards equal voting rights. The court has already ruled against these maps for being unconstitutional, yet the governor persists in pushing an agenda that makes a mockery of justice and equality. This disregard for the law and equity should be a wake-up call for all Louisianans to demand accountability and transparency from our leaders.
This situation is not only a legal and constitutional issue but also a moral one that touches on the very fabric of our democracy. It affects every citizen of Louisiana directly by infringing on their right to fair representation. We must ensure that everyone’s votes count equally, irrespective of race or background.
We cannot allow such infringements on our sovereignty as voters go unchecked. Let us unite our voices to demand the immediate removal of Jeff Landry from office. This is a call to action for every Louisianan committed to safeguarding democracy and racial justice in our state.
Sign this petition to send a clear message to our legislators that we demand leadership that respects our rights and upholds justice for all citizens. Together, we can restore faith in our democratic process and ensure that our voices are heard and respected.
