We, the south korean football fans, are calling for the immediate removal of Hong Myung-bo as head coach of the South Korean national football team.

This goes beyond bad tactics.

It has been reported that Son Heung-min , our captain, our most experienced player, and one of the most prolific players in Premier League history  was benched not for tactical or fitness reasons, but due to a personal conflict between him and the coach. This is completely unacceptable at any level of football, let alone a World Cup.

Allowing a personal grudge to influence team selection at the biggest tournament in the world is not just unprofessional, it is a betrayal of every Korean football fan and an insult to the players who dedicate themselves to representing this nation.

Tactical failures on top of personal bias:

Son Heung-min, our best player, benched due to a personal relationship issue with the coach
Repeatedly instructing players to deliver high crosses into physically dominant South African defenders, despite yielding zero results
Ignoring low driven crosses which were the only source of genuine chances, and were proven to work against Czechia
No outside the box threat created despite having the quality to do so
Deploying an ineffective 3-4-3 formation that left the team exposed
Our demand:

The Korean Football Association must act immediately. A coach who benches his best player over a personal grudge has no business leading this team. We demand his removal and the appointment of a coach who puts the nation first, respects the quality of players available, and makes decisions based on football, and not personal feelings.

South Korean football deserves better. Son deserves better. We deserve better
