I strongly believe that Claressa Shields should face serious review regarding her boxing license due to repeated behavior that reflects recklessness, aggression, and a disregard for personal accountability outside of the ring. Professional athletes, especially trained fighters, carry a heightened responsibility to conduct themselves in a manner that does not endanger others or promote intimidation and violence. When someone with professional combat training allegedly uses their physical abilities to intimidate, bully, or place their hands on others outside of sanctioned competition, it raises legitimate public safety concerns. No innocent person should have to fear being harmed by an individual who possesses that level of training and influence. This is not about attacking someone personally — it is about accountability and protecting the public. Athletes are role models, and their actions matter. I believe appropriate disciplinary action should be taken before another individual is potentially harmed. Professional fighting skills should never be used as a tool for bullying, aggression, or reckless behavior outside the sport itself.

Claressa needs help and I feel this would be one of the many steps to lead her in the direction that would be better for not only her personal identity but her self image.

I am submitting this petition out of concern regarding the public behavior and conduct of Claressa Shields. While her accomplishments in boxing are undeniable and deserving of recognition, I believe her repeated involvement in public altercations, hostile exchanges, and aggressive behavior outside of sanctioned competition reflects poorly on the sport and the image of professional athletes. Boxing naturally involves promotion, competition, and trash talk. However, there should be a clear line between entertainment and inappropriate conduct. Public incidents involving physical aggression, disrespect toward others, and ongoing social media hostility create a negative example for young athletes and fans who look up to professional fighters as role models. My concerns are not based on race, complexion, or personal dislike. As a dark-skinned African American woman myself, I want to make it clear that this is not a colorism issue. This is about accountability, professionalism, and the standards that should be upheld by individuals representing the sport on a global platform. Claressa Shields frequently presents herself as an advocate and representative for African American women and women in sports. Because of that, her public behavior carries influence. Unfortunately, the constant negativity, public disputes, and apparent lack of accountability overshadow her athletic talent and damage the positive image many women athletes work hard to build. This petition is not intended to erase her accomplishments or attack her personally. Rather, it is a call for disciplinary action and accountability to reinforce that repeated hostile or aggressive conduct outside the ring should not be normalized or rewarded within professional sports. Athletes, especially champions, should be held to standards that reflect leadership, discipline, and respect for others. Without accountability, this behavior risks becoming accepted as the example for future generations of fighters. I respectfully ask that the appropriate organizations review this pattern of conduct seriously and take the necessary disciplinary action to protect the integrity and reputation of the sport.

As a black woman I find it upsetting to see how far from grace another black woman can fall under the watch of a so called man that"loves" her. I would rather her stop boxing for a while to work on her mental health and the loss she about to experience. To attack another over a relationship that is as see through as glass is diabolical. Bag behavior should not be rewarded

42 years old, have been a Bills fan my entire life, used to help my dad out at training camp in the summer at SUNY Fredonia in the 80s and 90s. Coach McDermott is an man of integrity, and integrity is worth a thousand Super Bowls. You can't buy integrity, you can't be given it - you have to be it, walk it, live it. Firing Coach McDermott in a knee-jerk reaction, without any gratitude for what he has done for our team, is shameful. There were better, more dignified ways you could have addressed this kind of operational change. I have been so proud to be a Bills fan my whole life, I have brought Bills Mafia love with me everywhere I have gone, and the organization has absolutely broken my heart over how this situation was handled. Coach McDermott deserved better. I have never felt shame over the Bills losing a game, but I feel shame for how the Bills treated Coach McDermott.
Cat supported: Reinstate Sean McDermott to the Buffalo Bills
As a lifelong Buffalo Bills fan—born and raised right here in Western New York, practically on a folding table amid the tailgate chaos—I’ve bled blue and red since day one. Hearing talks about firing Coach Sean McDermott just doesn’t sit right with me, and I think it’s the wrong move for our team. I’m throwing my two cents out there anyway, even if it gets lost in the shuffle, because us fans deserve a voice, especially as taxpayers who’ve chipped in to keep this franchise thriving (hello, stadium funding). Look, McDermott has earned his spot in Buffalo. Here are some key factors why letting him go would be a massive mistake: 1. Consistent Success and Playoff Runs: Since taking over in 2017, he’s turned us from a perennial underdog into a legit contender. We’ve made the playoffs six out of the last seven years (as of 2025), including multiple deep runs. That’s not luck—it’s coaching that builds resilience and wins games when it counts. 2. Player Development and Culture Building: He’s the architect behind Josh Allen’s rise from raw talent to MVP-caliber QB. McDermott fosters a tough, accountable atmosphere that embodies Bills Mafia spirit—high energy, no excuses, family vibe. Our defense has been top-tier under him, and that “process” he preaches keeps the locker room locked in, even through injuries and tough losses. 3. Long-Term Stability: Firing him now disrupts everything. We’ve got a young core, a new stadium on the horizon, and momentum. Knee-jerk changes have sunk franchises before—remember the revolving door before McDermott? He understands Buffalo’s grit and weather; an outsider might not gel the same way. 4. Fan and Community Impact: The energy he brings pumps up the entire city. Sellouts, wild tailgates, national buzz— that’s McDermott’s influence. As fans (and yes, taxpayers footing part of the bill), we should demand our say before they torch what works. Bills for life—let’s keep Coach Mac and chase that ring! #BillsMafia #GoBills
