As a woman who has achieved more than having babies, I am deeply offended by Harrison Butker's speech that belittles women's accomplishments. It is disheartening to hear such misogynistic sentiments from a public figure like him, who should be using his platform to promote equality and respect for all. His comments are not only disrespectful but also factually incorrect. According to the World Bank, 50% of women worldwide are in paid employment outside the agriculture sector as of 2020 (World Bank). Furthermore, women have made significant strides in fields traditionally dominated by men; they now make up 28% of all engineers in the U.S (National Science Foundation). By reducing us to mere child bearers, Butker undermines these achievements and perpetuates harmful stereotypes about gender roles. We call on the Chiefs to take action against this blatant misogyny by removing Harrison Butker from their team.
