Petition updateREMOVE HAMZAH GOODSON AND DENETRIA SHIRLEY FROM PLEASANT VIEW SCHOOL NOW

An Appeal to Step Down and Allow Our Community to Rebuild

Nothing has changed since our last update. Students, staff, and parents continue to raise concerns about their experiences with Hamzah Goodson and Denetria Shirley, yet the Board has taken no meaningful action to address them.
We are now entering week four without a proper school schedule, while serious concerns affecting our students, staff, and families remain unresolved. Yet the Board continues to move forward as though everything is normal.
For nine months, concerns have been raised, questions have been asked, and opportunities to act have been given. That time has passed. Patience cannot replace accountability, and statements cannot replace action.
We do not need another appeal for calm and patience. Instead, we ask those in leadership to pause and reflect on their own decisions, conduct, and responsibilities. Please take the Qur’anic reminders shared with the community and reflect on them through your own actions—not simply ask others to remain patient.

Our appeal is simple: Please step down. Please do us—and yourselves—a favor: do not run again.

You have had the opportunity to lead. Now, allow others the opportunity to serve. Step aside and give Pleasant View the chance to rebuild trust, restore stability, and move forward.
We want our school back. We want accountability. We want our community to rebuild.
