Remove Gloria Boyd, Chris Calfee and Jody Ray from the Radford City School Board

Remove Gloria Boyd, Chris Calfee and Jody Ray from the Radford City School Board
The Issue
Gloria Boyd and Chris Calfee have been serving on the Radford City School Board since November 2022. Jody Ray has been on the board for 2 years Unfortunately, they have failed to live up to the expectations of their constituents. Therefore, we are calling for their removal from the school board.
Boyd, Calfee and Ray have made decisions that have negatively impacted our schools. Additionally, these board members have shown a lack of transparency when it comes to decision-making processes. This is evidenced by how they have forced Robert Graham out of his position as the superintendent of Radford City Schools. They made this decision without consulting parents or teachers who are directly affected by these choices. They also made this decision in spite of Mr. Graham's excellent record of service to the Radford City School District.
It's time for change on the Radford City School Board. We need leaders who will prioritize the needs of our students and work collaboratively with parents and teachers towards achieving academic excellence.
The actions of Gloria Boyd, Chris Calfee, and Jody Ray have had a profound impact on the Radford City School District, affecting numerous individuals within the community. Students, parents, and teachers have all been concretely affected by the decisions made by these school board members. The quality of education provided to the students has suffered due to their poor choices. Teachers, who strive to create an optimal learning environment, have had their morale dampened by the lack of support and transparency displayed by the board. Parents, who entrust their children's education to the school system, have witnessed a decline in the educational opportunities and resources available to their kids. The negative consequences of Boyd, Calfee, and Ray's actions have left a lasting impact on the entire community.
The current state of affairs on the Radford City School Board holds immense significance for the future of education in the district. Robert Graham has been forced to resign from his position as the Superintendent of Radford City Schools. There is good reason to believe Boyd, Calfee and Ray will be targeting other leaders in our school district for removal. If things remain unchanged, the consequences will continue to reverberate throughout the community. Students will be denied the opportunity to receive a quality education, limiting their potential and hindering their future prospects. The lack of transparency and decision-making without consulting the stakeholders will lead to further erosion of trust and communication between the board, parents, and teachers. The reputation of the school district may be tarnished, affecting the enrollment of students and potentially leading to a decline in the quality of educators who choose to work within the district. The stakes are high, and without intervention, the educational well-being of the students and the cohesion of the community will be at risk.
The urgency to address the current situation on the Radford City School Board cannot be overstated. The school board has hinted there will be more changes at the June 20th school board meeting. We believe this is likely means that other excellent educators and leaders in within the school district will be forced to resign. The detrimental impact on students' education, teachers' morale, and parents' trust necessitates immediate action. By removing Gloria Boyd, Chris Calfee, and Jody Ray from the school board, the opportunity arises to replace them with leaders who prioritize the needs of the students and understand the importance of collaboration with parents and teachers. Acting promptly will allow the community to begin the process of rebuilding trust, improving communication channels, and reestablishing a foundation of excellence within the education system. Delaying action will only prolong the negative effects and hinder the progress that can be made toward academic achievement and student success. The time to act is now, for the sake of the students, the educators, and the future of the Radford City School District.
