Across the globe, the topic of fluoride in our drinking water has always been a pertinent issue. This is especially true in the Quad Cities area. Originating as a method to prevent tooth decay, fluoride is now regarded by many to have potentially toxic effects, with the World Health Organization suggesting that long-term ingestion of large amounts can lead to crippling skeletal fluorosis. Although fluoride quantities in water are controlled, people have different water consumption patterns, thereby affecting fluoride absorption. Therefore, we appeal to the relevant authorities to remove fluoride from our drinking water in the Quad Cities area. This action will assure the residents' right to clean and safe drinking water, thereby contributing to their overall wellbeing. The people have a right to choose what they consume.
