Sangeetha Rayapati was born to a Minnesota. Swede and an Indian immigrant. She grew up in Pennsylvania before moving to the Midwest, where she developed strong family ties. She graduated from Valparaiso University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Bachelor of Music, later pursuing graduate studies in music at the University of Minnesota.
