Remove Eric Althoff from his Position as Foreperson in Department 235

The Issue

Throughout his tenure as a machine shop and fill in millwright foreperson for union lodge 235 employees, Eric Althoff has consistently created a toxic and distressing work environment for his workers. Workers, who once looked forward to their work, now dread even the thought of daily interactions with him. His aggressive management style and constant demeaning behaviour has driven employees' morale into the ground, and mental stress levels are soaring due to his actions. 

Despite multiple individual complaints submitted by various workers  against Mr. Althoff, no remedial action has been taken so far by Harvey shop upper management. We are greatly concerned that this lack of intervention is only encouraging his destructive behaviour, and that it sends an alarming message to the entire organization: that mental health and employee wellbeing are of little to no importance.

We propose the immediate removal of Eric Althoff from his position as Harvey machine shop and millwright fill in foreperson. This action will prove to employees that TTC management listens and values their employees concerns and wellbeing. It will also serve as a strong message to others that toxic and unsupportive behaviour will not be tolerated within an organization that is meant to thrive on teamwork, respect, and dignity.
