Remove Durkan merchants from our neighborhood

Remove Durkan merchants from our neighborhood
The Issue
My daughter and I have been struggling with severe asthma, largely due to the fumes and pollution caused by the influx of industrial lorries associated with the local Durham merchants. Our neighborhood, once a peaceful haven, has turned into a place where it isn't even safe for kids to play outside.
The volume of heavy-duty vehicles on our narrow streets has escalated beyond what we can bear. The noise is deafening, and the air is filled with exhaust fumes that choke our community. Children's health is at risk, not just mine and my daughter's. It's heartbreaking to see kids cooped up indoors on beautiful days because the conditions outside have become hazardous.
Our community feels neglected and our quality of life has been deeply affected. Local wildlife has disappeared, and gardens where families once gathered have become desolate due to constant noise pollution. The streets are littered with garbage, making our once neat and tidy neighborhood look unrecognizable.
This is not just about inconvenience; it's about safety and health. The local roads are not built to withstand such heavy traffic, and the infrastructure is crumbling. Accidents are waiting to happen if something isn't done urgently.
I call on local authorities and leaders to take immediate action by removing these merchants from our residential area. We need regulations that protect the health and safety of our communities above commercial interests. Stricter controls on industrial traffic and pollution management must be implemented. Alternative routes for these lorries should be considered, which don't impact residential areas.
Let us reclaim the safety and peace of our neighborhood and ensure the well-being of our children and environment. Signing this petition is a step towards clean air, safe streets, and a healthier future for all of us. Please add your name to help us make a change. Together, we can restore our neighborhood and protect our families.
