Dear All

Further to the petition you signed after the death of a dog on the trial cattle grid at Castle Meadows, the decision to support the Planning Application was postponed by Monmouthshire County Council. There is an MCC Planning Committee meeting on June 6th, but we don't yet know if this Proposal will be on the Agenda.

Although we hope the petition (signed by over 1200 people) shows the strength of feeling, the official methods of objecting (which may carry more weight) are as follows:

1. Objecting to the Planning Application (DM/2022/01831) by commenting online here: https://planningonline.monmouthshire.gov.uk/online-applications/applicationDetails.do?activeTab=makeComment&keyVal=RNAV98KYFVB00
You just need to add your details, then comment and tick the box for 'Object' under 'Stance' (you can make clear in the comments whether you object to the whole of the proposal, or just to the Cattle Grids).

2. Signing the 'official e-petition' here: https://democracy.monmouthshire.gov.uk/mgEPetitionDisplay.aspx?ID=12&RPID=22039526&HPID=22039526

3. Emailing/calling your own local councillor, whether they sit on the Planning Committee or not (a full list is available here: https://democracy.monmouthshire.gov.uk/mgMemberIndex.aspx?FN=WARD&VW=TABLE&PIC=1)

If you could do any or all of these things, we might yet save another dog, or even a small child, from serious injury or death. If you are keen to be more active in this campaign, please message me.

Many thanks

Jo Webb
