On October the 13th Brandon Lawson son of Hawkins County Sheriff Ronnie Lawson plead guilty to four counts of attempted aggravated sexual battery. These crimes occurred over a two year period and included multiple victims. Aggravated sexual battery carries a normal sentence of 8-30 years in a state prison and a fine up to 25,000 dollars. However in what can only be described as a true sweetheart deal Cecil Mills the prosecuting attorney and his boss Dan Armstrong cut a deal with Brandon that will see him only serve one year in a county jail. This type of corruption is disgusting and unacceptable both Dan and Cecil should be forced to resign their positions effective immediately.
