The Issue

When I was a child, I experienced the trauma of rape, and I know firsthand the lifelong impact this crime has on victims. I cannot stand by while d4vd, a musician charged with the rape and murder of a 14-year-old girl, continues to have his music available on major streaming platforms. The songs of an individual implicated in such heinous crimes do not belong amongst the choices available to our children.

D4vd’s music contains themes of being in love with children and glorifying violence. I fear that exposure to this content could desensitize young listeners and normalize behavior that is utterly unacceptable. The lyrics and melodies that romanticize or trivialize the serious crimes of rape and murder must not have a place in their playlist rotation.

There is simply no reason for anyone to support this kind of narrative when there are countless other positive and empowering musical artists out there whose work can enrich and inspire young minds. We should be diligent in ensuring that content accessible to children upholds values that society wants them to learn and grow from.

We urge music streaming platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, and others, to take immediate action by removing d4vd’s music from their libraries. Doing so communicates a strong message that such behavior as the charges against d4vd will not be tolerated or rewarded.

This petition calls for a united stand against any form of glorification of heinous acts against children, like those allegedly committed by d4vd. Let us protect our children’s mental health and well-being by filtering out harmful music and messages from their listening experience.

Sign this petition to demand the removal of d4vd's music, to ensure that our platforms align with values of safety, respect, and equality for everyone, especially our children.
