Remove Cobb County Schools Superintendent Chris Ragsdale
The Issue
Public education is meant to be a neutral ground, free from political agendas, where every child deserves a fair chance to learn and grow in a supportive environment. Unfortunately, under Superintendent Chris Ragsdale’s leadership, our schools have increasingly become arenas for partisan ideologies, overshadowing the holistic growth and unbiased education our children deserve.
Chris Ragsdale’s tenure has been marked by decisions that reflect personal political leanings instead of what’s best for our students. His policies have included attempts to censor educational materials, restrict teaching topics, and dismiss vital conversations around diversity, equity, and inclusion. This regressive approach drastically affects the quality of education and stifles the cultivation of open-minded, informed citizens.
The leadership of a school system should be characterized by integrity, inclusivity, and a commitment to empowering both students and teachers. Injecting political partisanship into our classrooms jeopardizes these core values. As parents, students, teachers, and concerned citizens, we refuse to sit quietly while our public schools are treated as political battlegrounds.
While current administrative contracts shield district leadership from direct removal by public petition, the ultimate power still rests with the people. The School Board is elected by us—and the School Board answers to the voters. Changing the leadership at the top is a realistic goal if we unite, organize, and show up at the polls.
By signing this petition, I declare that:
1. I reject political bias and censorship in Cobb County classrooms.
2. I demand a School Board that enforces strict accountability and transparent leadership over district administration.
3. I commit to voting in the upcoming school board elections to restore a student-first focus to our district.
