We, the students of Veterans Tribute CTA and our families, are submitting this petition due to many students and families expressing serious concern about the presence, activities, and representation of Club America on our campus.

WHY WE ARE SPEAKING UP:

There is evidence of individuals associated with Club America attending a Donald Trump political rally while representing Veterans Tribute.

The club also only follows the right side on their official Instagram page and wears MAGA merchandise in their posts. This has caused students to question whether the club is acting solely as individual students or presenting itself publicly as representing our school.

HOW THIS AFFECTS STUDENTS:

-Students feel uncomfortable and unwelcome.
-Students feel unrepresented if they don't share the club's political views.
-Students are concerned that the school's name is being used to promote one political agenda.
-Students feel uncomfortable participating or expressing themselves because of the club's political focus.
-Students have asked for answers but have been ignored.

-THERE IS A MAJOR DIVISION BETWEEN STUDENTS!

WHAT WE ARE ASKING THE SCHOOL TO DO WE REQUEST AND WOULD APPRECIATE THE REMOVAL OF CLUB AMERICA WE DON'T WANT TO TAKE AWAY POWER FROM VOICES, WE JUST WANT ALL VOICES TO BE HEARD. HAVING A CLUB PROMOTING MAGA/RIGHT WING IDEAS GIVES THE IDEA THAT OUR SCHOOL ALIGNS WITH THOSE AGENDAS. ALTHOUGH THEY STATE THAT THEY ARE INCLUSIVE, SPECIFICALLY WITH BOTH POLITICAL PARTIES, THEY CONTRADICT THEMSELVES BY THEIR FOLLOWING, POSTS, PROPAGANDA THEY PROMOTE, AND THE EVENTS THEY ATTEND.

WE ARE NOT ASKING FOR:

-We are not asking to ban political beliefs.

-We are not asking to punish students for their opinions.

-We are not asking to silence anyone.

We are asking for equal respect, transparency, and a school environment where every student feels welcome.
