Regarding the newly implemented chat-ban AI system Activision is using on Call of Duty games- this M(Mature) 17+ video game, not only involves blood and gore, violence, but also foul language. The video game has been online multiplayer since 2005. Allowing players to immerse themselves into the game, create friend groups and friendships. Recently a new AI-system has been created to prevent “inappropriate conduct” in the voice chat system. Usually to protect against hate speech, I.E. racial slurs, homophobia, and transphobia. However, it has been noted that hundreds to thousands of players have been banned from not only communicating in game with other players but now, their friends as well. Not for saying hate speech statements: but simply saying curse words. 
This now interferes with a protected right in America- Freedom of Speech. But also, the ability to properly play the game with your team and communicate accordingly. In the game you have the ability to not only mute any player- but also block players from being in your lobby. It is not up to AI- or call of duty DEVs (developers) to decide what is offensive and what is not. This game is not for children. It never was and never should be. There is a rating for a reason. 
It also now interferes with players enjoying the game with their friends they have already made. I, and countless others refuse to purchase future call of duty games due to this new update. 
This is not a petition to support hate speech. But rather a petition to support freedom of speech, and the right and ability to mute and/or block someone who does offend you in a video game. We should not be banned from communicating with people who WANT to have fellow players speak freely in game because AI system decides calling someone an “f-ing b**ch” is too inappropriate and offensive. By signing this, you are merely stating you support people’s right to choose. Not be forced into silence and compliance. Thank you,
